Cobblers Cove: Home From Home

Cobblers Cove is one of the former west coast summer homes of a Barbadian family that has been transformed into an hotel. It is has about 40 rooms and two suites--which overlook the sea. It has been offering a tempting 'staycation' deal, that ends this month. A room can be booked for 3 nights for B$1200, including full breakfast; in addition, there is a 10% discount on other food and beverage purchases. Non motorised water sport is also included. The real sweetener is a full English afternoon tea from 4-5pm each day, with sandwiches, freshly baked scones, cakes, and assorted jams.

The assistant manager, Monica Blackman, invited me to spend a few nights and I did not think it would be possible due to other commitments. However, destiny had other plans. Monica also arranged for two other Bajan couples to spend the weekend, feeling that we would make a good group of six. She was absolutely correct. Over the next few days, I will be posting impressions of the visit, mainly as encouragement to people living in Barbados to enjoy what the island's hotels offer.

The kind of offer that Cobblers Cove has goes well with the current Re-Discover Barbados program, that promotes 10 restaurants and offers dining for B$99 (US$50) per person for a 3-course meal, plus a bottle of wine per couple. That promotion runs until December 15, 2009.
