Barbados Fire Service Using Social Media

Barbados' fire service is making good use of social media and the Internet to advise, warn and update about fire and disaster-related incidents. Their website Bajan Fire Fighters (http://bajanfirefighters.blogspot.com/) and their updates of incidents on Twitter (https://twitter.com/bajanfire) are both worth following.

Kudos to Live in Barbados blog for flagging this.

Ian,

Thanks for the link. I had not seen the report, but it fits with some reports I had heard about responses. I think that a certain good is being done by using social networking, and it would be better if the Fire Service are honest enough to let people respond and recount their experiences. Their blog and Twitter accounts are relatively new. In fact, you could run a test and just post the link you sent me on the blog/Twitter accounts and see how it flies.
